This is the moment a cornered wild boar attacks a security guard at a school in China as he tries to shoo it off a sports pitch.

The video, recorded at the Jinshi Primary School in Tongling City, in Anhui province, on May 23, shows the hog running across the pitch and trying to scale a wall.

But it is too high for it, and instead, the animal turns its attention to the security guard chasing it with a long pole with two prongs at the end of it.

It charges straight at the man, who tries and fails to pin it to the ground.

But he misses, and the hog begins to attack him. He quickly gets on his back and aims kicks at the wild boar in an attempt to protect himself.

The images then cut to the boar after it was finally captured, with the video showing the authorities carrying it away tightly bound in a rope net.

The guard, Cui Guoping, was later congratulated by the authorities for his bravery. He was not seriously injured in the incident.

The boar was handed over to the fire department to be released back into the wild.
