"I come from Taiwan. Taiwan is also rich in fishing village culture like here. Huangqi first came into my view when I visited Matsu over three decades ago. I did not expect that I would see Matsu from the other side here in Huangqi 30 years later.
The stone houses in Gushi Village, as you can see, feature mortise and tenon joints. Look at this gate, it is rare to see such intricate woodwork in areas neighboring Matsu and Pingtan Island.
We took charge of this roof's refurbishment, emphasizing to the construction crew from the outset the importance of using locally obtained materials. Our commitment is not just to conserve traditional culture and architecture, but also to breathe new life into them and use them in innovative ways.
I hope to help attract tourists to the village, promoting both culture and tourism at the same time.
Taking the geographical advantage in Fujian, and through 'mini three links,' I hope more and more young people and talents from Taiwan would be attracted to come here.
The talent station is expected to serve as a platform for young people from Taiwan to embark on the mainland systematically, providing them with guidance and services.
I hope cross-strait integration will be further promoted, inspiring the younger generation to ignite thoughts and ideas that are uniquely theirs through exchanges."
