Armed forces and firefighters led a heroic rescue following a dam breach in southern China.

The video was filmed in Huarong County in Hunan Province on July 5.

A dike breached, rapidly widening the gap. In response, armed police, firefighters, and rescue teams quickly mobilised to manage the crisis and evacuate residents. Using heavy machinery and large quantities of rock material, they worked tirelessly to seal the breach.

Concurrently, evacuation and resettlement of the affected populace began. Over 1,400 firefighters were urgently dispatched to Huarong County to aid in the efforts.

As of 9:00 a.m. on July 8th, the closure of the breach had progressed by a total of 138.5 metres, with 87.5 metres remaining. Officials have stated that the breach could be completely sealed by noon on July 9th, advancing at a rate of 60 to 80 metres per day.
