Noodle seller rescues mother and son drowning in river
This is the dramatic moment a noodle seller rescued a mother and her 13-year-old son drowning in a swollen river in Thailand.
Pornkamol Prangprempree, 45, was returning to her shop when her staff came rushing outside screaming that two people had fallen from a nearby bridge into the Tha Chin River in Nakhon Pathom province on July 22.
As Pornkamol owned a boat to take customers for trips on the river, the chef and her employees rowed over to the distressed relatives.
Footage shows the local heroes grabbing the mum and her boy, and hoisting them up onto the boat.
Once back on dry land, medics administered CPR as the woman had fallen unconscious. The pair were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Pornkamol said: 'I didn't hesitate because I knew that lives were at rick. I just left my wallet and groceries in the shop before rushing to help them.'
An onlooker, Sorasak Inthasat, 53, said the mother fell from the bridge first, followed by her panicked son who was trying to save her.
Police believe she had left her son behind on the motorcycle they were driving, but he followed and tried to save her before drowning.
Both were in a stable condition and recovering in hospital.
