This is the shocking moment a loose wheel fell from a bridge onto a car below.

A passing vehicle was struck by the tyre which came flying from the overpass above in Chachoengsao, Thailand, on August 6.

Dashcam footage shows the driver manoeuvring when the rubber smashed into the windshield, causing it to shatter and prompting the driver to stop the sedan.

No one was injured in the incident.

Despite being one of the wealthiest countries in Asia, the country suffers from chronic underinvestment in its highways and education, contributing to its poor road safety levels. Only a handful of African countries are worse.

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
