Search teams recovered the bodies of six people killed by typhoon storms in Thailand.

The Wiang Malika Rescue Team unearthed the corpses of six residents, including children, buried in a landslide that struck the Ban Doi Laem community in northern Chiang Mai province on September 11.

The landslide ravaged the residential area amid heavy monsoon rains intensified by Typhoon Yagi's remnants.

The deceased were named by officials as Kayarat Pafu, 23, Yatibo, 5 months, Phakeen Pafu, 4, Chadaporn Pafu, 39, village head Thirayut Siriwannasatit, 42, and an unidentified individual.

Northern Thailand has been battered by continuous heavy rain since September 8 due to Typhoon Yagi's influence.

Fang District Chief Nopparat Suphakitchkoson said government agencies were clearing the scene and pumping out floods. He added that relief goods were being distributed to more than 9,000 flood-stricken residents amid a shortage.

Yagi, said to be Asia's most powerful storm this year, was downgraded to a tropical storm on Sunday morning, September 8. It killed at least 15 people in the Philippines before slamming into southern China and Vietnam, where it left at least 150 dead and dozens more missing.

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) had forecasted isolated heavy rains with gusty winds across the northern and northeastern regions as remnants of the cyclone strengthened the monsoon.
