A clumsy cobra fought with a smaller snake and became entangled in a hosepipe while tussling.

The 10ft-long venomous snake preyed on a serpent it found while slithering property in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, on August 19.

It swallowed the snake head first, but the cobra was intertwined with a blue pipe under a tree during the struggle.

Residents found it in the morning, looking weak and faintly moving, with half of its dinner still dangling out of its mouth.

Footage shows the cobra slithering, with a lighter-coloured snake lying next to it. The rescuers freed the animal and measured it before taking it to their facility.

House owner Jiraporn Pirunkan, 48, said: ‘My dog barked so loudly and showed me the snake.'

Rescuers evacuated the cobra from the resident's home.

Researchers found that 7,000 people are treated for snake bites each year in Thailand. Suchai Suteparuk from the Division of Toxicology at Chulalongkorn University reported that 30 of those die, with cobras being the biggest killer.
