A terrified resident found a cobra swimming in his bathroom water tank in Thailand.

The house owner was about to take a bath when he discovered the creature wriggling in the water in Samut Prakan province, on July 20.

Snake wrangler Tanchanok Rattanaprasart responded to the property and caught the aggressive serpent.

Footage shows the animal rescuer using a pole with hook to restrain the snake. The creature tried to fight off the rescuer but it was eventually caught.

Tanchanok said: ‘I think the snake came inside the house to shelter from the storm. It had been raining recently and most of the ditches where they usually build nests were flooded.'

The cobra was placed inside a bag and taken by the rescuer to be released back to the wild.
