This is the moment a captured crocodile was carried around a village in India.

Doting residents caught the predator that emerged from a drain in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, on September 24.

The locals called the forest department for assistance in catching the animal. However, when they were unable to retrieve it, young men took matters into their own hands.

Footage shows men lifting the tied animal and placing it in a bicycle to transport it away from residential areas, preventing it from attacking people.

Crocodiles are large semiaquatic reptiles that eat insects, crustaceans, snails, small fish, frogs, and tadpoles. However, they see humans as easy prey, with an estimated 1,000 people falling victim to these animals each year.
