This is the dramatic moment a python stuck in a reservoir sluice was rescued in India.

The 8ft snake stirred panic among nearby residents after becoming stranded near the crest gate in Hyderabad, Telangana, on October 22.

Footage shows a man tied with a rope retrieving the reptile and allowing it to coil around his arm. He then carefully walked along a narrow pathway and handed the animal over to zoo officials.

Pythons are non-venomous constrictors that prey on rodents, birds, lizards, and mammals. They lack venomous fangs and consume their prey whole by swallowing them.
