A jilted boyfriend allegedly kidnapped his ex when she refused to reconcile with him in Thailand.

Obsessed boyfriend Rattapong Jitgaroon, 29, reportedly attacked his former lover Daranee Imsa-ard, 26, in Bangkok after failing to convince her to rekindle their relationship on November 20.

He was said to have forced her into a Toyota Altis sedan, where he and his friend Pitiphum Chuaplee, 28, taped her mouth and tied her hands and feet. They were driving along the busy Pracha Uthit Road when a bound Daranee managed to open the car door to scream for help.

Dramatic footage shows the desperate girlfriend, her hands tied with yellow cloth, dangling from the rear passenger seat as the Toyota Altis wove dangerously through traffic with car door still open. Rattapong was also seen in the video trying to keep the shrieking Daranee from falling as shocked onlookers called the cops.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Sumit Nanon of the Thung Khru District Police Station said officers received a report at 4:33 pm. They intercepted the vehicle when it was stopped at a traffic light near the entrance of Soi Pracha Uthit 93. They arrested the suspects and hauled them to the station.

Daranee, still shaken from the attempted abduction, claimed Rattapong was angry because she had already found a new boyfriend soon after their spit. He allegedly tricked her into boarding the sedan by pretending to return her belongings.

Police Colonel Jumpol Sinsiripong, superintendent of the Thung Khru Police Station, said: 'We believe the motive was jealousy. Both suspects were charged with illegal detention, assault, and extortion. They have been taken to the inquiry officer for further legal action.'

In a similarly violent lovers' spat in Thailand early this month, police arrested a furious girlfriend who tried to run over her boyfriend with a pickup truck for refusing to go home after drinking.

Porn, 57, ploughed into her younger lover Anurak Duangsorn, 42, with her Isuzu D-Max pickup on November 4 after he reportedly went missing for four days from their house in Chonburi. She was taken to the police station to be charged with drink driving.
