Hikers trapped in a ravine were rescued in Spain.

Two mountaineers stranded in the Morana ravine in Anon de Moncayo were saved after a three-hour operation by the Civil Guard on Sunday, November 24.

Authorities said the pair, a 45-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman from Tudela, became disoriented and stuck in thick vegetation after starting their hike earlier that day.

Unable to continue as night fell, they called for help at 6:26 pm.

The Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM) of the Civil Guard responded and navigated difficult conditions for over three hours, covering four kilometres on foot.

After ensuring the hikers were in good health, they were given food, water, and warm clothing.

Though the terrain was still treacherous, a safer, longer route was chosen for their return. The team guided the pair to the Civil Guard vehicle, completing the operation at 1 am on Monday.

Officials said the hikers were unharmed but exhausted and were safely reunited with their vehicle.
