This is the dramatic moment shop workers raced to hold a tent being battered by a storm in Malaysia.

Footage shows the men scrambling to anchor the tent as torrential rains lashed Kota Bharu City in northeastern Kelantan state on November 28. The locals also unplugged the string lights decorating the tent as the streets started to flood.

More than 30 people were killed as severe floods caused by monsoon rains battered Malaysia and southern Thailand.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the downpours pummeled Malaysia's eastern coast late November. The states of Kelantan and Terengganu were reported to have suffered the worst of the flooding.
