This is the dramatic moment a six-year-old boy trapped in a 33ft deep well was rescued in China.

Footage shows firefighters carefully extracting the distressed child in Fuyang, Anhui, on November 30.

Authorities said the boy had slipped into the narrow well, with a diameter of less than 30 centimetres, and became stuck at a depth of about 5 metres, wedged against the wall in Dashi Village, Xihu Town.

As the boy slid further down, terrified and struggling, rescuers improvised by creating two hooks to catch his clothing.

They then lowered a rope loop to secure his wrist and elbow, slowly pulling him to safety.

He was reportedly unharmed.
