Jay walker somehow survives being crushed between two buses
This is the heartstopping moment a jaywalker miraculously survived when he crushed between two buses.
Bharat, 25, was caught up in the potentially fatal accident when a TNSTC bus and a private vehicle sandwiched him in Tamil Nadu, India, on January 23.
Footage shows the victim crossing the road when the blue bus, manoeuvring behind, accelerated on the narrow path, causing him to be pressed between the four-wheelers.
He can be seen losing his balance and ending up wedged between the vehicles, forcing him to turn towards the road to avoid being hit by the wheels.
Upon seeing this, the driver behind immediately swerved to avoid running over him, while the yellow bus engaged its brakes to halt in the middle of the road.
After the two buses stopped, he stood up and walked away as if nothing had happened.
He reportedly did not sustain any serious injuries from the incident.
The public expressed concern over the reckless behaviour of private bus drivers at the intersection, citing frequent incidents of speeding and excessive honking.
Data shows around 35,000 pedestrians died in road accidents in India in 2023, representing roughly every fifth road death, including those related to jaywalking, due to poor infrastructure and risky road behaviour.
