A dashcam has captured the terrifying moment a bus smashed into a pick-up truck in Indonesia.

In the clip, which was filmed in Banuhampu, Agam in West Sumatra, the pick-up drives down the highway when suddenly the mini-bus turns without warning into its path.

With no time to brake or turn away, the two vehicles collide with horrifying force.

Remarkably everyone involved survived the accident, although both the driver and the passenger of the pick-up truck were injured.

Although the footage was filmed in September 2016, it hasn't been published online until now because the filmer - who is the driver and owner of the pick-up truck - did not want to disrupt the police investigation into the accident.

The owner of the pickup car said, this accident occurred when his pickup car daily food merchandise, departed from Bukittinggi to Padang, on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.

Upon reaching the highway of Banuhampu, Agam, ahead of the police station of Banuhampu Police there was a public transport bus suddenly overtaking and causing the accident.

Accidents occur when public transport buses are overtaken and attempted to avoid collisions by steer the wheel to the right, but accidents can not be avoided when the pickup car can not brake suddenly so that hit the body of the right side of the bus.

The driver and passenger of the pickup car was injured, several bus passengers also suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
