STORYLINE:
Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit on Thursday urged to speed up reconstruction of the Gaza Strip to block the path to the displacement of Gazans, the AL said in a statement.
Aboul-Gheit made the remarks during his meeting in Cairo with Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Mustafa, where he reiterated the U.S. proposal for displacing the Gazans was rejected by Arab countries, said the statement.
The Palestinian top envoy briefed Aboul-Gheit on plans and programs for addressing the catastrophic situation in Gaza for urgent relief delivery and early recovery to pave the road for reconstruction.
