A shocked plane passenger found a firecracker under her seat.

The female passenger reportedly discovered the cracker on Shandong Airlines flight SC2270 from Guilin to Xiamen, in China, and handed it over to a flight attendant on January 31.

Footage shows the woman holding the small explosive, with its fuse clearly untouched.

The flier told local media on February 2 that she had also called Shandong Airlines' customer service complaint hotline after finding the item and is currently cooperating with the police investigation.

Authorities have reminded passengers that it is strictly prohibited to bring fireworks on board flights and that even fake ones are banned.

It is currently unclear how the cracker ended up on the plane, and officials are investigating the incident.
