West Midlands Police have cordoned off Alcott Woods in the Chelmsley Wood area of Solihull after a woman was raped by 2 men on Monday morning.

A forensics officer was seen taking pictures and placing items into evidence bags inside the wooded area that is surrounded by residential streets.

Several police vehicles were parked along Moorend Avenue on Tuesday 11 February morning.

An inner cordon was placed in the centre of the woodland with police officers and PCSO's guarding the crime scene.

Officers had first attended on Monday monring and kept the scene overnight.

WEST MIDS POLICE STATEMENT: We’re investigating after a woman was raped by two men in Chelmsley Wood.

It happened at Alcott Woods at around 8am yesterday.

We are supporting the woman, and officers have been in the area carrying out searches and other enquiries.

The investigation is at a very early stage and anyone with information has been asked to get in touch via Live Chat or 101 quoting log 1844 of 10 February.
