Currently, there is a noticeable premium for Comex futures gold prices in New York compared to spot gold prices in London. Traders can secure a risk-free profit by purchasing physical gold in London while selling futures contracts in the U.S. market. Data indicates that since the U.S. elections last year, Comex gold inventories in New York have increased by approximately 20 million troy ounces, valued at around 60 billion U.S. dollars, with most coming from London. According to the statistics released by the British central bank, the Bank of England, the outflow of physical gold in January this year reached its highest level since 2012.
