Crazed monkey bites tourist's leg in Vietnam
A crazed monkey bit a tourist's leg outside a temple in Vietnam.
The hungry macaque was watching its friend try to steal a girl's lunch before joining in with a tag-team approach and attacking her at the Buddhist Linh Ung Temple in Da Nang.
Footage shows the primate grappling with Thanaporn Tounchuen's leg before plunging into fangs into her flesh.
The animal sank its teeth into the girl with the white dress before pulling away. Such was the force of the bite, it pierced her skin and caused blood to flow down her calf.
Thanaporn said: 'I did not know that there were monkeys up there. I was going to worship Buddha.
'A monkey came and stole my food. It was a one-on-one fight between me and the monkey but there was its friend.
'It bit me. It bit my leg. I was so embarrassed because there were a lot of people around.'
The girl's bite wounds were cleaned and covered with a bandage before she went to the clinic to get six stitches.
Thanaporn explained that officials later told her that food was banned from the park due to the danger of monkey attacks.
She said: 'I did not know that bringing food up there was not allowed. I learned my lesson the hard way.'
Monkeys in Vietnam can be aggressive, especially in areas where they are used to human presence and expect food.
