Train Smashes into Truck at Canton Crossing; No Major Injuries Reported
Credit: Adam McCulloch
A dramatic moment was caught on camera by Adam McCulloch on April 9, 2025, around 1:40 p.m., just before an MBTA commuter train collided with a truck at a railroad crossing in Canton, Massachusetts.
The footage, shared on X, clearly shows the crossing sign and vehicles near the tracks moments before impact. McCulloch’s video quickly gained traction online and drew the attention of major outlets including Storyful, WBZ, and the European Broadcasting Union, all of whom requested permission to use the clip in their coverage.
According to NBC Boston, MBTA officials confirmed that no one aboard the train was injured and that the truck was unoccupied at the time of the crash. The crossing gates were reported to be working correctly. However, the Canton Fire Department stated that one individual sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers at rail crossings, even when safety mechanisms appear to be functioning.
