This is the dramatic moment a toddler was rescued from a 30ft well in Thailand.

Boss, 2, was playing near the well shaft when he plunged into a small gap in the earth, loosened from heavy rain in Trang, on April 15.

The child screamed in terror as he slid down the narrow hole. His cries were heard by his family, who found him wedged next to the well near their home.

Rescue volunteers arrived at the scene and found Boss's mother trying to comfort the sobbing boy.

They lowered a rope into the hole and hoisted Boss back up to safety in 20 minutes.

Footage shows medics treating the exhausted youngster seen in the video covered in dust.

Sai Kaewchuea, head of the rescue team said: 'Before the incident, Boss was just walking around near his house like usual. The mouth of the hole had been covered with a tile, but after the well was finished, heavy rain caused the soil to collapse and create a hidden gap next to it.

'Unfortunately, he stepped on the tile and fell through. After we received the report, our team rushed in with rescue gear. When we arrived, we saw that the hole was narrow and dark, which made the rescue tricky. But we managed to calm the child down and used a rope to pull him up safely.'
