Bakersfield, United States - May 11, 2025 05/11/2025 12:20 am GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Early Sunday morning, Kern County Sheriff's officers responded to reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian incident on North Chester near Bedford Way. Upon their arrival, officers found an individual who was not breathing. They initiated CPR until the fire department and medical personnel arrived at the scene. Kern County Fire Department personnel and Hall Ambulance paramedics took over resuscitation efforts and transported the individual to a nearby hospital. It remains unclear if the individual survived. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene, leaving parts of its bumper on the roadway. The California Highway Patrol and the Kern County Sheriff's Department are investigating the incident.
