On May 8 in Hengyang, Hunan Province, a trailer truck was traveling along the road when one of its tires suddenly detached, broke through a door, and flew into a nearby home—crashing into a group of people playing mahjong inside.

Fortunately, the tire did not strike anyone directly. Instead, it first hit a wall and some furniture, lessening the impact. Two elderly women sustained minor injuries, but the mahjong table, chairs, and other items were damaged, leaving the room in disarray.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the tire detachment may have been caused by road bumps, tire aging, or improper installation. Traffic police determined that the trailer driver bears full responsibility for the accident. Compensation details are still being negotiated.
