Tour guides prepared an awesome food spread for their guests at an island destination.

Timelapse footage shows the locals shaping rice balls into words to spell out the name of the island of Siargao in Surigao del Norte, the Philippines.

The hot steamed rice was surrounded by buttered shrimp, grilled tuna fish, squid, small deep-fried crabs, and anchovies.

There were also sliced tropical fruits like mangoes and watermelons on the table.

The lunch was presented on a table covered with banana leaves to be shared by the holidaymakers.

Such meals, especially in beach spots, are usually eaten with bare hands.

Resident John said: 'That was what we call the boodle fight set up at Daku Island.'
