A luxury hotel has become a wasteland, still deserted five years after the pandemic.

Footage shows the once-bustling five-star Imperial Hua Hin Beach Resort now eerily empty in Prachuap Khiri Khan.

The beachfront property now has cracked tiles, a trashed pool, and littered hallways that used to welcome hundreds of tourists.

Chair cushions have been dumped into corners of the building, while abandoned furniture sits gathering dust.

Broken ceilings hung loose, and dried leaves covered the floors, giving the once-luxurious spot an apocalyptic feel.

A tourist said: 'That was how the hotel looked five years after being ravaged by the pandemic.

'The beachfront Imperial Hua Hin Beach Resort in Prachuap Khiri Khan was devastated by travel closures.

'It was taken over by hotel giant IHG and was due to re-open as a Kimpton in 2024, but remains desolate to this day.

'The security guard on duty said she is still waiting for the renovation to take place.'

The building caretaker said: 'Now the only people who visit are foreigners who want to look around and take pictures of the abandoned building.'
