On the morning of June 15, a powerful storm in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, caused a large tree to suddenly fall in a parking lot, crushing several parked vehicles. The incident, which occurred in Qingcheng District during intense rain and strong winds linked to Typhoon “Butterfly,” was captured on surveillance video.

Footage shows a black car narrowly escaping disaster as it drives off moments before the massive tree crashes down. Several other cars weren’t as lucky — with windshields shattered, roofs dented, and debris scattered across the lot. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Parking lot staff said the tree had stood for years without issue. Insurance assessors are now evaluating the damage, and affected vehicle owners have begun filing claims.
