-ROME, ITALY - JUNE 21, 2025: Tens of thousands of demonstrators gathered in Rome on Saturday, June 21, staging two large marches to show solidarity with Palestine and protest the rearmament of Europe. One group of protestors marched from Vittorio Emanuele II Square to Fori Imperiali Street. In a symbolic act, protesters set fire to a cardboard tank to show their opposition to Europe's rearmament. "I am here because what is happening is unacceptable. So is our country Italy's and Europe's involvement." said a protester named Mattia. Another attendee, Tilde, added, "This people is being humiliated and denied the right to live in their own lands, which is a fundamental right for humans." A second march, echoing similar sentiments, moved from Ostiense Square to the Colosseum. Participants laid out white garments resembling burial shrouds and staged a die-in to represent Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks. Former Italian Prime Minister and Five Star Movement leader Giuseppe Conte also attended the march.
