Kind neighbours used bamboo poles to carry appliances up to a remote hillside that was too steep for the delivery truck.

Four kindhearted residents stepped in to help Cristel Balmes transport a new refrigerator and water cooler to her home in Batangas, the Philippines.

Footage shows the men carefully shouldering the boxed fridge, gripping bamboo rods attached to its sides as they climbed the steep cemented slope, with two dogs trailing beside them on June 19.

Cristel said: 'My siblings, who are working abroad, bought the fridge and a water dispenser. I had to handle everything because the delivery truck couldn't reach our home, the road from the main street is too steep. We couldn't lay the fridge down in a jeep either, so I asked for help from my neighbours.

'Here in our place, the spirit of unity is very much alive. They didn't want to accept payment, saying it's not all about money. Whenever someone is in need here, everyone comes together to help. But I insisted since I disrupted their day, and eventually, they accepted.'
