Los Angeles, United States - June 27, 2025 06/27/2025 12:15 am GMT-0700 ROSEMEAD, Calif. – Emergency responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a hit-and-run incident Friday morning involving a vehicle that struck a fire hydrant, causing water to shoot approximately 75 feet into the air. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they experienced difficulty locating the shut-off valve for the hydrant. To assist in shutting off the water, firefighters requested support from the San Gabriel Valley Water Department. Meanwhile, the sheriff's department remained on the scene, closing the eastbound number one lane at Garvey Avenue to ensure safety.
