This is the amusing moment monkey 'highwaymen' held up cars to demand food.

Eliza Dianna Zahadi and her friends were caught in traffic when two hungry primates approached a car behind them in Port Dickson, Malaysia.

Footage shows the driver tossing food to the macaques, who stood on their hind legs in the middle of the road on June 29.

When a piece of pastry was thrown to the animals, they eagerly crunched it and munched on the snack.

Eliza said: 'I felt bad that I didn't have any food to share with them at the time. It was also concerning that cars might hit them, but after taking the snacks, they moved away.'
