Multiple agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the Bakersfield Police Department, and the Shafter Police Department, were involved in the search. The reason for the search was not confirmed, but initial reports indicate the individual may be a murder suspect. Authorities closed off the area and were seen surrounding a property with ballistic shields, rifles, and flying drones.
