PLANO, Texas — A Plano Fire-Rescue crew demonstrated the true spirit of public service this week by going above and beyond the call of duty.

After responding to a medical call for a woman who had overheated while mowing her lawn, Truck 1B firefighters provided medical care and ensured her safety. But their service didn’t stop there. Once the woman was stabilized, the crew stayed behind to finish mowing her yard.

The department shared the story on social media, calling the gesture a reflection of the crew’s dedication to “service before self.” The simple act of compassion quickly resonated with the community, earning praise and appreciation for Plano Fire-Rescue’s commitment to both emergency response and human kindness.
