IRVING, Texas — Irving police officers helped reunite a blind pigeon named Kevin with his owner after the bird accidentally hitched a ride in a customer’s truck over the weekend.

Kevin, who cannot fly, was at work with his owner when he ended up in the back of a departing customer’s vehicle. When the bird went missing, the owner sought help from nearby officers.

Although unsure of the outcome, officers followed up and successfully tracked down the customer. To their relief, Kevin was found safe and waiting to be rescued.

The department shared the unusual but heartwarming call, reminding residents that sometimes even lost pigeons can count on the police for help.
