Homes flooded as torrential rain hits Myanmar
This is the dramatic moment homes were flooded as torrential rain hit Myanmar.
Footage shows muddy floodwaters sweeping through widespread areas of Tachileik on Monday, July 28.
The filmer said: 'The flood is fast!'
Local media reported that continuous heavy rain since the night of July 21, worsened by Typhoon Wipha, has led to widespread flooding in low-lying areas of Tachileik Township, Eastern Shan State.
The floods were caused by persistent rainfall, rising water levels in the Mae Sai River, and runoff from the surrounding mountains.
The affected locations include Poon Htun, Tar Lot, Maka Ho Kham, Wang Kaung, and San Sai (A and B) wards, along with major thoroughfares such as Bogyoke Road and the city's circular road.
