On 15 August in Dongguan, Guangdong, a black SUV lost control while driving through the car park of the Humen Fumin Swimming Centre, crashing through a wall and plunging straight into the swimming pool.

CCTV footage shows that at 9:52 a.m., the SUV suddenly swerved sharply to the right, smashing through trees along the wall before plunging nose-first into the pool.

After the vehicle hit the water, several bystanders and lifeguards at the pool reacted immediately, rushing to the scene. Within about 20 seconds, they successfully rescued a woman and a young boy from the car and brought them safely ashore. Fortunately, neither of them was injured.

The exact cause of the incident is still under investigation.
