A church wedding proceeded despite flooding caused by a typhoon in the Philippines.

Jade Rick Verdillo and Jamaica Aguilar exchanged their vows at Barasoain Church in Malolos, Bulacan, surrounded by knee-deep water.

Footage shows the bride standing gracefully on the waterlogged floor with her gown's flowing train submerged as a gentle drizzle falls on July 22.

Bridesmaids, groomsmen, and family members can be seen marching barefoot through the flooded aisle, accompanied by soft music.

Event staff then swung open the grand wooden doors, revealing Jamaica poised at the entrance.

She then waded through the floodwaters, flanked by her parents waiting in the centre aisle.

Together, the family carefully made their way to the altar where Jade Rick awaited.

The Philippines and neighbouring Southeast Asian countries are entering their annual monsoon season, marked by soaring temperatures followed by intense rainstorms.

The region's low-lying geography, inadequate drainage systems, and rapid urbanisation make it especially vulnerable to flooding.

Limited infrastructure often struggles to handle the heavy rainfall, resulting in widespread flash floods.
