This is the dramatic moment police apprehended a suspect following a 100mph motorcycle chase in Michigan.

The pursuit began as a routine traffic stop for a speeding infraction, but quickly escalated when the rider attempted to flee from officers on Sunday, August 17, around 8 pm.

Footage shows emergency responders chasing the individual as he rode his motorbike. He attempted a U-turn before the motorcycle tipped over on Markham Street in Flint.

After being cornered, the individual abandoned the motorcycle and fled on foot.

Officials said that during the pursuit, he attempted to discard a firearm and methamphetamine, both of which were recovered by officers.

The suspect identified by police as Cory Herrick, 37, now faces 11 felony charges related to the incident.
