Advanced electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, jet packs and smart recreational vehicles (RV) are in the spotlight at the ongoing World Smart Industry Expo 2025 in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. Many visitors were attracted by an autonomous two-seat eVTOL aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of 620 kilograms at the show which runs from Sept 5 to 8. The maximum design speed of the aircraft is 130 kilometers per hour. It can fly about 30 kilometers with a single charge of 25 minutes. The expo also exhibited an innovative jet pack that can carry a weight of 100 kilograms to fly over 10 kilometers below the height of 1,000 meters. With the smart helmet and glasses, the pilot can experience a automatic flight by looking at the direction of the travel route. A smart RV with the functions of a bedroom, a meeting room and recreations were also highlighted at the expo. The intelligent control system connecting the mobile phone can easily switch the spatial structure, which greatly improves the comfort level of the vehicle. The four-day expo spans an indoor exhibition venue of 130,000 square meters and an outdoor venue of 40,000 square meters, with this year's focus on the themes "AI+" and "Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicles." It has brought together more than 600 domestic and international businesses to showcase innovations across various sectors, including autonomous driving, smart homes and the low-altitude economy.
