Shocked motorcycle rider finds king cobra snake coiled in the engine
A shocked motorcycle rider found a king cobra coiled inside the engine of his two-wheeler in Malaysia.
The 16-year-old motorist was crossing a road near his home in Kedah when the serpent appeared on Wednesday evening, around 7:30 pm.
Upon noticing the highly venomous reptile, the teenager immediately braked and stopped his motorcycle before jumping off and running away, causing his vehicle to fall on the road.
He then quickly called emergency responders, who confirmed the snake was a king cobra.
Footage shows the 13ft serpent still coiled around the fallen motorbike while a five-person firefighter team carry out the operation.
Mohamad Jamil Mat Daud, Assistant Chief of the Sik District Fire Department, said: 'The four-metre-long cobra that was caught near the motorcycle's brakes was finally captured using a net.'
The king cobra is a venomous snake species found in Southern and Southeast Asia. It is the world's longest venomous snake, growing an average of 10 to 13ft.
They have potent venom that affects the nervous system, and though they rarely bite humans, their bite can be fatal without prompt medical treatment.
Cobras are also known for their intelligence and complex behaviours. They typically inhabit forests, woodlands, and grasslands.
