Los Angeles, United States - October 24, 2025 10/24/2025 01:55 am GMT-0500 EAST HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles firefighters and police responded to an incident involving a vehicle that crashed into a fire hydrant and a traffic light pole. Upon arrival, officers found a woman whose car had collided with the hydrant, shearing it and sending water shooting into the air. Firefighters began efforts to shut off the hydrant. Crews suspected the shut-off valve might be located beneath the car, so they secured a tow strap to the vehicle and pulled it back with a fire engine. However, it appeared that this was not the correct valve. As crews continued their work, the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Vermont Avenue was closed to traffic.
