Truck topples over spilling dozens of school children onto ground
This is the dramatic moment a truck carrying dozens of schoolchildren toppled over, sending them tumbling onto the roadside.
Thirty students and their teachers were aboard the lorry when it lost control and began rolling back down a steep mountain road in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, on October 24.
Footage shows the youngsters from Wahdah Islamiyah Gowa Junior High School inside the flatbed as the truck begins to roll backwards down the slope before slamming into a tree and overturning.
The children can be seen plunging out of the truck's open bed, screaming in fear.
They pile on top of one another in the chaos, while one of the teachers standing behind the vehicle is struck as it overturns, narrowly escaping serious injury.
Local media reported that two students sustained minor injuries and were rushed to the hospital, while the religious teacher accompanying them managed to avoid being crushed.
The group had been travelling to the Hobbit House in Pattallassang District as part of their school's Islamic Camp II event.
Assistant Commissioner of Police M. Muaz, head of the Gowa Police Traffic Unit, said: 'The two students only suffered minor injuries and were later released from the hospital. They had abrasions, but after treatment, they recovered. The religious teacher also survived.'
