This is the dramatic moment a worker stuck by his safety harness was rescued by a passing crane operator.

Footage shows an air-conditioning technician hanging outside a window after the rope became tangled around his neck and arm in Beijing, China.

His colleague can be seen trying to haul him up, gripping the cable tightly while balancing on the edge of the building on October 17.

Moments later, crane driver Wang Lei quickly manoeuvred his vehicle towards the building and extended the crane arm to reach the struggling labourer.

Two men then boarded the platform and were lifted to the man's position. They carefully pulled the trapped worker into the lift, prompting the operator to lower them safely to the ground.

The technician reportedly did not sustain any serious injuries during the incident.

Local media reported that he had slipped while dismantling an air-conditioning unit from the exterior of the building.
