Storyline: China to build 'millisecond computing' capacity in metropolitan areas [Voice_over] Computers in some of China's urban centers are about to get a lot faster as 'millisecond computing' capacity is installed in metro areas across the country. Officials from the country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology say that by 2027, interconnection delays between computers using a designated city-wide domain will be reduced to under one millisecond. That means computers in hospitals, industrial parks, factories and at other critical sites, will become more efficient, and able to handle things like AI and new manufacturing. According to the notice issued by the ministry, the plan will be rolled out nationwide in a phased manner. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
