A mountain road was ravaged by a devastating landslide in Vietnam.

Footage shows the damaged section of National Highway 27C at Khanh Le Pass, Nam Khanh Vinh Commune, Khanh Hoa Province, on November 22.

The concrete lanes were broken, and parts of the road had sunk by around 16ft, completely blocking the route.

Local media reported that heavy rainfall from November 19 to 22 triggered seven new landslides along the pass. Some of the affected areas stretched over 100 metres, with deep cracks that nearly split the road in two.

The ongoing rains have caused the soil and rocks to continue shifting down the mountainside, making it more challenging for rescue vehicles and machinery to access the area.

Earlier, on November 16, a separate landslide struck the same route, burying a passenger bus and resulting in at least six fatalities and 19 injuries.

Vietnam has been grappling with severe flash floods, triggered by intense and prolonged rainfall across the Central Region and Central Highlands.

The disaster has claimed at least 102 lives, with more people missing across the affected provinces. Over 200,000 homes have been flooded, and more than 119,000 residents have been evacuated to safety.
