2. VARIOUS OF GREEN SEA TURTLE SWIMMING WITH REMORA FISH IN SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIP IN MARSA ALAM HURGHADA, EGYPT - DEC. 11: Endangered hawksbill and green sea turtles were captured on underwater cameras in waters off Hurghada, a major tourism hub on Egypt’s Red Sea coast, on Thursday, Dec. 11.

The footage shows a hawksbill sea turtle, listed globally as Critically Endangered by the IUCN, feeding around coral reefs, underscoring the area’s ecological importance. A green sea turtle, which is Endangered, was recorded swimming alongside a remora fish.

The wider Red Sea region is home to diverse marine wildlife, with sites such as Sharm El-Sheikh and Marsa Alam offering year-round diving thanks to consistently warm waters.

Visitors from many countries travel to the region to experience the underwater scenery and abundant sea life, which provides significant economic support while simultaneously posing a challenge to marine conservation efforts.
