Chinnathambi the rogue elephant returned to a town in south India after being transported away by forest officials several days earlier to search for his mate and calf.

Footage from the 25-year-old elephant's march today (January 31) through the town of Pollachi in Tamil Nadu state shows him undeterred by firecrackers and screaming people as he walked through the streets.

Chinnathambi was originally separated from his group and transported to a forest reserve after he started raiding village crops for food, damaging a tusk during his first capture by forest officials.

Chinnathambi a bonded father and a protective spouse started its search for the calf and the female elephant. No matter even if you translocate him or not. The 25-year-old wild elephant which was captured was then trans located to vadakalariyar near the top slip. But no human can stop him from being re uniting with its family. It entered a village called Angalankurichi this morning which was 32 kms away from Top slip (this was the place where the elephant was trans located). The elephant did not disturb anyone in the village whereas the forest officials started bursting the crackers to send the tusker back to the reserve forest. The elephant has been trans located because it was leading a herd in crop raiding but it did not harm humans. Even after its translocation crop raiding is in its blood and it will not stop doing that and the search continues until it finds its family. Mean while a fan club is also started to save Chinnathambi and the videos of Chinnathambi roaming in the streets of Pollachi is being happily shared in those groups and it is trending in Tamilnadu
