Man clings onto bonnet of car as driver speeds through traffic in northern India
Police have arrested an unidentified man for his involvement in a road rage in northern India.
The incident took place in the posh Indirapuram area of Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district on March 6.
According to the victim, who identified himself as Jagbir, a car had hit his vehicle while they were moving through the road. This led to a minor scuffle, which was stopped after police intervened.
A law enforcement officer also ordered the two people to park the car on the side and sort out the issue.
However, as Jagbir parked his car, he saw the other driver fled with his and attempted to stop him.
Instead of stopping, the other driver sped his car through the motorway, with Jagbir hanging from the bonnet.
Footage filmed by commuters showed Jagbir screaming for help, as the car snaked through the traffic. However, it was forced to come to a halt as others sped past it and blocked the way.
A distressed Jagbir was also heard screaming expletives. He also asked the driver to come out.
Later, the victim said he was dragged for about two kilometres (1.24 miles). The car’s driver also tried to hit several bumpers in an attempt to crush Jagbir, who picked up an injury during the ordeal.
