Weird weather! Extremely localised rain filmed in southern India
A stunning clip has emerged from southern India showing extremely localised rainfall on Saturday (June 22).
The footage shows the heavens opening over a small area of Vellore District in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Technically speaking, the clip shows a "precipitation shaft" - a weather phenomenon visible from the ground at large distances as a dark vertical shaft of heavy rain, hail, or snow, generally localised over a relatively small area.
